Robert Owens President

Robert Owens, President, joined Owens Group in 1978; the firm was founded by his father, Herbert Owens, in 1957. He is actively engaged in all areas of the firm’s practice and serves on the Board of Directors, the Management Committee and the Owens Group Advisory Committee.

Bob has served on a number of charitable boards and is currently a board member of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, the Horace Mann School, the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz and the Of Many Institute for Multifaith Leadership at NYU, co-chaired by Chelsea Clinton and Dr. Linda Mills.

After graduating from New York University with Honors in Politics in 1971, Bob worked on Capitol Hill for two Representatives. He subsequently worked as an investigative reporter for syndicated columnist Jack Anderson and as the co-author of the “The Investigators” column for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate. He also wrote the nationally syndicated “Insure Yourself” column for four years.
